Services were held Monday, September 12, at the Herman Baptist Church in Herman for Goldie L. Yowell, 81, who died September 8, 1983, at Clarkson Hospital.

The Rev. Marlin Loftis and the Rev. Larry Orvis officiated. Burial was in the Herman Cemetery.

Goldie L. Yowell was born March 8, 1902, in Herman to Dan and Ludy Kimball Sheets. She married Claude Yowell on September 19, 1928, in Iowa.

She was a phone operator in Herman and Blair. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and the Herman Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son, and one daughter.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice Kelley and Janette Day, both of Fremont. Thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Jensen, Ontario, Oregon; Mardell Scarlett, Blair; Dorothy Metzler, Blair; and one brother, Elmer Sheets, Tekamah, also survive her.

Pallbearers were Ken Christensen, Bob Sheets, Lester Sheets, Darrell Metzler, Edward Sheets and John Yowell.

Gracie Husk was organist. The Rev. Marlin Loftis was vocalist.

Memorials may be made to the Herman Baptist Church.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
