Services for Bessie E. Zander, 87, who died August 19, 1991, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, were Saturday, August 24, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Dr. Howard Bailey officiated. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Bessie Estelle Zander was born October 21, 1903, at DeSoto, Nebraska, to Charles A. and Mary H. Gustin Green.

She was a 1920 graduate of Blair High School. She was a member of the Craig Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Craig.

She married Anton Zander June 17, 1926, at Papillion, Nebraska. They lived in the Craig and Herman area until his death in 1961.

She then moved to Blair where she resided until her death. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Ellen Zander of Cocoa, Florida; a son, Raymond Zander of Concord, California; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Anna Hampton and Mildred Gaddie, both of Omaha.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
