John Zeiner Buried In Nebr. City

John Andrew Zeiner passed away Wednesday night, March 27, at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital where he was confined with pneumonia for two days.

He was born October 8, 1904, near Nebraska City. He lost his sight in 1944, but farmed with his brother, George, at Nebraska City until his marriage to Catherine Johannesman at St. Louis, Missouri, on March 1, 1954.

They moved to Blair and have made their home here for the past nine years. He was a member of the St. Borgia Catholic Church.

Rosary was recited Saturday morning, March 30, at the St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City and burial was in the St. Benedict Cemetery. The Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials were sent to the St. James Orphanage in Omaha.

Survivors besides his wife, Catherine, are a sister, Mrs. Wm. Welter of Tucson, Arizona, and a brother, Mike Zeiner of Blair. Also four other sisters and two other brothers.

Mrs. Zeiner’s father, of St. Paul, Missouri, who is 86 years of age, was present at the funeral. Mrs. Zeiner plans to make her future home in Missouri.
