Edward Zeleny, 83

Edward Zeleny, a retired maintainer operator for the Butler County Roads Department, died Tuesday, July 7, 1987, at the Hooper Care Center.

He was born November 9, 1903, in Bruno. He lived most of his life in the Bruno and Prague areas.

He lived in Wahoo for two years before moving into the Hooper Care Center.

On July 25, 1923, he married Bessie Ptacek in Plasi. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Eugene Zeleny of Arlington, and Leonard Zeleny of Colon; one daughter, Hilda Grover of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Pohl of David City, and Mrs. Helen Lance of Downey, California; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 10, 1987, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington.

The Rev. Audrey Scott officiated. Burial was in the Bohemian National Cemetery at Bruno.

Pallbearers were Mike Kindler, Curt Summerland, Tom Pohl, Dennis Pohl, Donald Cutshall and Steve Wiblishouser.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
