SERVICE 10:30 am Tuesday. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Eugene R. Zeleny, 76

Eugene R. Zeleny, 76, of Blair, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Fremont Memorial Park Cemetery.

Eugene R. “Big Z” Zeleny was born May 5, 1933, in Bruno to Edward and Bessie (Ptacek) Zeleny.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army.

He married Norma J. Best on April 14, 1954. She preceded him in death in 1986. He then married Bonnie G. (Hineline) Wiblishouser on Dec. 26, 1987.

Mr. Zeleny was a 40-year employee of Hormel Packing Company in Fremont working as a ham boner.

He was a member of the Arlington Legion Club, and Blair Eagles. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his wife and teaching his grandchildren how to fish.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Steve Wiblishouser of Blair; step-son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Lisa Wiblishouser of Bennington; step-daughter Jodi Wiblishouser of Omaha; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leonard Zeleny of Montgomery, La.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda, and brother William.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
