Inez M. Zeman, 98

Kennard native Inez M. Zeman, 98, died March 13, 2009, in Lincoln.

An interment ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at Prairie View Cemetery in Kennard. In addition, a gathering in celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at First Plymouth Congregational Church, 20th and D. Streets, in Lincoln.

Inez M. Hansen was born March 6, 1911, in Kennard to Albert and Hulda (Nielsen) Hansen. She graduated from the University of Nebraska, and taught school in Millard.

She was an avid traveler and story teller, a creative hostess, homemaker and housewife. She was the past president of the Medical Auxiliary, PEO.

She is survived by her daughter, Zoya; sons, William, Albert and Michael; daughters-in-law, Ann and Mary; and six grandchildren, Bill and Kate Zeman, John and Nicole Zeman, Benjamin and Fiona Zeman, Joanna, Kris and Tara Zeman. She was a proud host-mother to Belgian exchange student Willem Lancsweert.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin Zeman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Prairie View Cemetery, the Sheldon Museum of Art, or the University of Nebraska Foundation scholarship fund.
