ETHEL LAUGHLIN
Ethel Marie Laughlin, 79, died August 2, 1986 at the Tekamah Nursing Center. She was born October 11, 1906 at Blair to Charlie and Lizzie Denny Laughlin.
She attended Hill Creek School and graduated from Herman High School in 1924.
Most of her life was spent as a telephone operator, starting in the 1930s at the Herman Telephone Co., then at the Mead Ordinance plant and then the last 20 years at Offutt Air Base, retiring in 1971.
Miss Laughlin is survived by one brother, Howard Laughlin of Herman; two nieces, Patty Laughlin of Valley, and Ada Jane Bucy of Tekamah; one nephew, Tom Laughlin of San Rafael, California; two great nephews, Tim Bucy of Tekamah, and Gregg Bucy of Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Beulah; and one brother, Robert.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, at the Herman Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Orvis officiating, with burial in the Herman Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Vernon Clements, Ervin Clements, James Hancock, Eugene Husk, Cameron Jackson and Jack Wachter.
Campbell Funeral Home of Blair is in charge of arrangements.
