MARGARET LAUGHLIN, 75, 10/8/1921 – 3/3/1997

Margaret Jerline Laughlin, 75, died Monday, March 3, 1997, at her home in San Rafael, Calif.

Services will be held March 25 at 10 a.m. at the Herman Methodist Church. A private graveside ceremony will follow the service.

Laughlin was born Oct. 8, 1921 in Pineville, Ken. to J.B. and Ada Duff Marshall. After graduating from the Cincinnati Jewish School of Nursing in 1943, she served as a First Lt. in the Army Nurse Corps, 122nd General Hospital from 1944 – 46. She was stationed at Hereford, England during World War II. She worked at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha for several years before joining the staff at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair in 1956. She worked at MCH until her retirement in 1985. She relocated to San Rafael in 1992 and lived with her son and adopted family.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Ann Weberg and her husband, Frank of Wausa, Nebr.; Ada Jane Bucy of Omaha; Thomas Marshall of San Rafael, Calif.; grandsons, Gregory Michael Bucy of San Anselmo, Calif. and Timothy Thomas Bucy of Santa Cruz, Calif. and her adopted family, Roy and Susan Benson and Evan, Erica and Julia Benson of San Rafael.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be given to the Herman American Legion or the Washington County Nurses Association .
