John J. Zima, 64

Funeral services were Wednesday, January 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colon for John J. Zima, 64 of rural Mead and a retired farmer who died of leukemia January 20, 1990, at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County. Burial was in Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo.

John J. Zima was born May 2, 1925, in rural Colon. He married Adeline Spicka September 24, 1959, in Wahoo.

They lived southeast of Cedar Bluffs until moving to a farm near Mead in 1962. He was field reporter for the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service for the past 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, Adeline; a son, Randy of Mead; two daughters, Patti (Mrs. Steve) Cernin of Leshara and Mary Ann (Mrs. Bradley) Petersen of Herman; a brother, Frank of Cedar Bluffs; and five grandchildren.

Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo was in charge of arrangements for the services.
