Raymond H. Magill, 86

Raymond H. Magill, 86, of Blair, formerly of Herman, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 1, at the Herman Legion Hall. Visitation will begin 1 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Military graveside services will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Raymond H. Magill was born June 29, 1926, in rural Herman to Raymond C. and Bessie (Hovendick) Magill.

He attended rural elementary schools in Herman and attended Blair High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

Upon his return from the service, he married Beth Kjeldgaard on December 18, 1947, in Tekamah.

He farmed and lived in the Herman area until moving to Blair in 2010.

Mrs. Magill died in August of 1982.

On January 14, 1984, he married Frances Miller in Blair. She preceded him in death in July of 2012.

Mr. Magill was a member of the Herman Community Church and Herman American Legion. He was member of the military honor guard for many years.

He served on the Brodersen School Board.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Roger Hanneman of Friend and Karen Mann of Blair; son and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Renae Magill of Gretna and Dee Magill of Herman; brother and sister-in-law, Orville and Madge Magill of Craig; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Norman Hineline of Omaha; sister-in-law, Dorothy Helmuth, of Baldwin Park, Calif.; stepchildren and their spouses, Henry and Beate Miller Jr., Julie Luikens and Patricia and Dan Burdess, all of Blair; 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Beth and Fran; and son, William "Bill" Magill.
