Monica D. Weaver, 72, of Fremont, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 3400 E. 16th, Fremont, with Father Damien Cook officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.

A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Moser Memorial Chapel and at the church Wednesday, one hour prior to services.

Monica D. Weaver was born Jan. 25, 1931, in Anselmo to Ira and Katherine (Powers) Green. She grew up at Anselmo and graduated from high school at St. Agnes Academy in Alliance. She attended Kearney State College, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in rural schools for two years prior to her marriage on April 14, 1952, to Dewayne F. Weaver in Lexington.

After her marriage, the couple lived in Lexington for one year before moving to Fremont. The couple lived in Arlington from 1968 and then returned to Fremont. Mrs. Weaver was a cook at Freddy’s Cafe in Arlington and operated a day care, and then worked for the Fremont Public Schools for 10 years.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont, and St. Patrick’s women.

She is survived by her husband, Dewayne; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald and Mary Weaver of Arlington and Robert Weaver of Fremont; three daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy Martens, and Sandra and Wayne Loock, all of Fremont, and Geri Hinkel of Omaha; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Phyllis Green of Sargeant; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and John Neville of Kearney; and Mrs. Weaver’s twin sister, Veronica and Harold Englert of North Platte; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; son, Richard; and three brothers, Joe, Bill and Donald Green.

Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont.
