Services Held for Vera Weber

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 10, at United Methodist Church in Tekamah for Vera L. Weber, who died March 8, 1983, in Blair.

The Rev. Ralph for officiated. Burial was at the Herman Cemetery.

Vera L. Weber was born October 13, 1902, on a farm homesteaded by her Grandfather Cain in Washington County near Herman. She was the first daughter of Ralph Robert and Cora Crawford Cain.

She graduated from the 10th grade at Crawford School and also attended and joined Bethel Methodist Church. In the spring of 1920, she graduated from Tekamah High School and became a teacher. She taught rural schools in Burt County for several years.

She married Emil Weber of Herman on February 16, 1924. They spent the first seven years of their married life on a farm near Herman. In 1931, they purchased a farm in Burt County where they lived until 1973 at which time they retired and moved to Tekamah. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1974.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Milton (Ila) Gardipee; one brother, Clifford Cain of Blair; one nephew, Donald Cain of Arlington; and one niece, Mrs. Gerald (Mary) Chamberlain of Tekamah.
