Services Held On Saturday For L. W. Weber

Funeral services were Saturday, July 19, at St. James Methodist Church in Bellevue for Herman native L.W. (Jim) Weber. Weber died July 11 at Bellevue at the age of 52.

Interment was at the Herman Cemetery.

Jim Weber was born January 25, 1928, on a farm northwest of Herman to Peter and Florence Waring Weber.

He received his formal education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1952 and was admitted to the Bar with a Juris Doctor degree in 1958.

Weber was a member of the Delta Theta Phi fraternity. He was a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Admiral in the Nebraska Navy, member of the Chamber of Commerce and past director of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1954, where he received the Good Conduct Medal and Meritorious Service Award. He was a member of the Nebraska Bar Association and American Trial Lawyers Association.

He was active in both local and national American Legion posts, serving as committeeman of the American Legion Department of Law and Order. He was a Director of the U.S. Snowmobile Association and a member of the Bellevue Boat Club and Civil Air Patrol.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Anne; son, Peter L., stationed in Germany with the United States Army; daughter, Ann M., a freshman at UNL; his mother, Florence C. Weber of New London, Wisconsin; two brothers, Dr. Joseph W. Weber of New London, Wisconsin, and Dr. George C. Weber of Glenwood, Iowa; a sister, Virginia Hardeman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and uncles, Julius and Ted Weber of Herman.
