Ted Weber, 95

Ted Weber, 95, of Herman, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at the Tekamah Health and Rehab Center in Tekamah.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 14, at the Herman Community Church, with the Rev. Dan Hovanec officiating. Interment was in the Herman Cemetery.

Ted Weber was born Oct. 6, 1906, on the family farm northwest of Herman, where he resided for 94 years of his life before entering the Tekamah Health and Rehab Center. He was the youngest son of John and Mary (Petersen) Weber.

He was a life-long farmer. He drove the school bus for Herman and Tekamah schools for 35 years.

He enjoyed playing cards, watching sports and reading comics. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing baseball.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Norma and Bill Gillingham of Lompoc, Calif., and Lois Johnson of Herman, four grandchildren and their spouses, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mattie Bartling and Marguerite Barker, both of Tekamah.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie, son, Ted, Jr., brothers, Chris, John, Joe, Pete, Lars, Julius and Emil, and sisters, Emma and Mary.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
