Mildred Catherine Uhing, 72 who died April 13, 1994 at her home near Craig, Nebraska, were Saturday, April 16 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tekamah. Rev. Martin P. Conley officiated. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Mildred Catherine Uhing was born August 1, 1921, on the family farm near Craig to Joseph and Julie Pounds Entrekin. She attended grade school at Prairie View and graduated from Oakland High School in 1939.

She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was a member of its Altar Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Craig, the Country Card Club and Country Women’s Club.

She married Herbert Joseph Uhing November 28, 1945 in Bancroft, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Theodore; a granddaughter and a great-grandchild.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Francis and Kathy Uhing, all of Craig; daughters and sons-in-la, Catherine Jolene and John Corbin of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Barbara Ann and Darwin Ruwe of Tekamah; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Entrekin of Lyons, Nebraska; a sister, Dorothy Doncheski of Tekamah and many other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were her grandsons, Jon Corbin, Jeffrey Corbin, Jason Ruwe, David Uhing and Bradley Uhing.

Molly Williams was organist. Dot Connealy was vocalist.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
