NELS LAURITSEN DIES IN TAMPA

A former Kennard business man, Nels Lauritsen, 71 years of age, died Monday in Tampa, Fla.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. The Rev. Harold Laursen will officiate and interment will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

Mr. Lauritsen is survived by his wife, Cora; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Frink (Ruth) of Clarence, Ia.; Mrs. Russell Taylor (Lorraine) of Blair and Mrs. Clifford Taylor (Elinora) of Fremont; two sons, Byron of Kennard and Harvey of Fort Calhoun; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred Nelson and Miss Alice Lauritsen, both of Blair; one brother, Louis Lauritsen of Kennard; and 10 grandchildren.

Mr. Lauritsen was born Aug. 14, 1890, the son of the late Carl and Cecelia Lauritsen of near Kennard.

He was married to Cora Grimm Jan. 10, 1916 at Denver, Colo. They farmed in the Kennard vicinity until Mr. Lauritsen entered the lumber business in Kennard. He retired from business in 1956.

Pallbearers will be George Japp, Alfred Nielsen, John Johnson, George Lauritsen and Elmer Andreasen, all of Kennard, and Raymond Hughes of Omaha.
