LAWRENCE LAUSEN, LONG TIME PARK EMPLOYEE DEAD

Lawrence M. lausen, an employee of the Blair Park Department for many years, died at the Blair Hospital Saturday. He had been in failing health for several months.

Mr. Lausen was born at Magnolia, Iowa, October 3, 1898, and was 76 years of age at his death. He lived at 1924 Lincoln Street.

As a younger man he was a blacksmith and machinist, a trade which fitted well into his work with the Park Department. Lawrence not only superintended the care of the park and its equipment, but he built many of the picnic tables, the benches and other facilities which have appeared from time to time in the park. His ability with tools stood him well in many facets of the park work.

Mrs. Lausen preceded Lawrence in death.

He is survived by two sons and five grandchildren. The sons are Marvin Lausen of Council Bluffs and Duane Lausen of Edmond, Oklahoma. Two brothers, Ed and Magnus Lausen live at Missouri Valley, iowa. A sister, Esther, also lives there.

Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church last Monday afternoon. The Rev. Robert Albers conducted the service. Burial, under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary of Blair, was made in the Grange Cemetery in Pottowattami County, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Clifford Moller, Paul Hansen, Raymond Rasmussen, Don Hutson, Ed Maaske and Ralph Smith.
