RUTH E. LAUTRUP, 88

Ruth E. Lautrup, 88, of Blair, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Crowell Memorial home in Blair.

Funeral services were Monday, April 28, at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Chapel. Interment was in the Kennard Cemetery.

Ruth Eileen Lautrup was born Aug. 22, 1914, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Nels P. and Della Lavina (Lake) Christensen. She attended the March School.

On June 9, 1934, she married Edward Lautrup.

Mrs. Lautrup was a baker and cook for the Regis Hotel in Omaha and Dana College in Blair. She retired Oct. 13, 1975.

Mr. and Mrs. Lautrup lived in Kennard from 1934 until 1959 and then lived in Omaha from 1959 until 1978. Following her husband’s death in 1978, Mrs. Lautrup moved back to Blair.

In addition to her love of baking and cooking, Mrs. Lautrup enjoyed crafts, painting, and playing cards.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Fern and Ferd Lacombe of Abileen, Texas; Darlene and Gene Quick of Blair; and Carla and Ronald Johnson of Omaha; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Karen Lautrup of Hobbs, N.M.; and Donald and Carol Lautrup of Blair; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Staben of Blair and Christina Rosenbaum of Cassilberry, Fla.; and a brother, Charles Christensen of Kennard.

In addition to her husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Dolan Lautrup.

Memorials are suggested to Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
