Mamie J. Wedgewood, 85

Services for Mamie J. Wedgewood, 85 who died June 5, 1995 at her home in Tekamah will be Friday, June 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah. Rev. Victor Crawford officiated. Burial will be in the Tekamah Cemetery.

There will be visitation at Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8 and Friday one hour before the service at the church.

Mamie J. Wedgewood was born April 16, 1910 in Shenandoah, Iowa to Charles W. and Ella Gibson Arnold. After the early death of her mother, she lived in an orphanage in Iowa until she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Nels Johnson. At that time she moved to the Albion, Nebraska area.

On December 28, 1926 she married Roy Wedgewood at Omaha. They made their home in Burt County and spent their life together farming.

On June 30, 1971 she was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church in Tekamah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy C. Wedgewood and two sons-in-law.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn Miles of Omaha; Doris and Merwin Georgeson of Lyons, Nebraska; Joyce Lewis of Tekamah; Beverly and Paul Warren of Blair and Ardeth and Larry Hennig of Decatur, Nebraska; sons and daughters-in-law, Lyle and Joan Wedgewood of Deep River, Iowa and Harold and Mary Lou Wedgewood of Tekamah; 30 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Mike Lewis, Greg Lewis, Pat Lewis, Gary Lewis, Jeff Warren, Joe Warren, Jay Wedgewood, Lee Georgeson, Lyle Georgeson, Rick Georgeson, Chris Wedgewood, Steve Wedgewood and Roy L. Wedgewood.

Julie Morrow will be organist.

Vocalists will be Patty Wilson and Marilyn and Cliff Morrow.
