Esther Wehmeyer, 86

Esther Wehmeyer, 86, of Fort Collins, Colo., died Dec. 7, 2004 at Columbine Health Care Ceneter in Fort Collins.

Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 12, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Denver.

Esther (Sinner) Wehmeyer was born Oct. 8, 1918, in Sterling, Colo., to Alexander and Kathryn (Wideman) Sinner. At the age of 21, she moved to Denver. She was employed by Western Electric and Gates Rubber Company.

On May 7, 1949, she married former Arlington resident Dorwin “Speed” Wehmeyer. They lived in Denver for many years. Mrs. Wehmeyer was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she served a deacon, Bible class instructor, and had many other responsibilities.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen and Vicki Wehmeyer and Bruce Wehmeyer, all of Fort Collins; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, George Sinner of Boulder, Colo., sisters, Eleanor Beran of Broomfield, Colo., Eva Boone of Littleton, Colo., Neva Beavers of Grand Junction, Colo., and Betty Towe of Aurora, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Bernice Grosse of Cedar Bluffs, and Geraldine Tank of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, “Speed,” in Dec. of 2001; a brother, Harry and a sister, Mary.

Memorials are suggested to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 770 S. Federal, Denver.
