Services for Alvina Elizabeth Weismann, age 85 of Blair and formerly of Omaha, who died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair October 1, 1993 will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 5 at the First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Neola, Iowa.

Alvina Elizabeth Weismann was born July 6, 1908 at Weston Iowa to Peter and Alvina Rassmussen Bondo. She attended Underwood High School and Dana College.

She married Boas A. Weismann July 23, 1928 in Neola, Iowa.

She taught school at Hazel Dell in rural Underwood for two years.

Due to Boas’ job they lived in several cities, including St. Louis, Dallas, Des Moines, East Lansing, Omaha and Blair. They moved to Blair in 1958, where she worked at Wolff’s Jewelry for 30 years, retiring in 1988.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Blair Rose Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Boas, on December 20, 1967; son, Alan in 1936; one brother and two sisters.

She is survived by her son, Lee of Arvada, Colorado; grandson, Bradley of Boulder, Colorado; granddaughters, Janis Miller of Phoenix, Arizona and Judy Weismann of Denver, Colorado; sister, Emma Christensen of Coralville, Iowa; sister-in-law, Ingrid Bondo of Blair and nieces and nephews.

Memorial may be directed to the Bondo Scholarship Fund at Dana College of the First Lutheran Church.
