LOLA LAYMAN, 91

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 7 at the Tekamah, Nebraska Cemetery for Lola V. Layman, 91 of Fremont who died November 4, 1995 at Merrick Manor in Fremont. Rev. Adrian Atkins will officiate.

Lola V. Layman was born at Morgan, Missouri February 28, 1904 and was raised there until moving to Tekamah, Nebraska as a child. She attended Tekamah schools and lived on a farm near Herman.

She moved to Fremont in 1942 where she worked for Rogers Tent & Awning, then Bader’s Café and managed the Rainbow Café and the Skelly Skillet.

She married Hershell Layman at Tekamah June 23, 1921. He died November 2, 1962.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cloda Shanks.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Cleda Wright of Fort Mill, South Carolina; Mrs. Jeanene Bahner of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Mrs. Anita Miller of Haines City, Florida; three sons, Raymie Layman of Davenport, Florida; Eugene Layman of Fort Calhoun and Carl Layman, Fremont; two sisters, Esther Steen of Wisconsin and Zela Cole of Mesa, Arizona; 40 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
