Tim Engelke, 82

Funeral services for Tim Engelke, 82, of Blair, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at First Lutheran Church, with interment in the Blair Cemetery. Mr. Engelke died Friday, Oct. 26, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Virgil Charles Engelke was born May 17, 1919, at Blair to George and Marietta (Stricklett) Engelke. He attended Blair High School.

On Dec. 30, 1942, he married Erna Gutschow in Blair. In 1942, he enlisted in the Navy and served during World War II. He was discharged in 1945.

Mr. Engelke worked at the Gambles Store in Blair from 1952 to 1967. He was a member of the Blair American Legion and V.F.W. and the First Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Erna, son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Elaine Engelke, daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jim Custard, all of Blair, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Georgia Nelson of Montana, numberous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, June Woodring and Helen Uehling, and by one brother, Bill Engelke.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
