Leif Unstad was born in Bergen, Norway.

He is survived by his wife, Viola Unstad; children, Joe Unstad, Blair; Ralph and Laurel Unstad, Bellevue, Nebraska and Jean Briardy, Phyllis and Larry Strazados and Don and Jackie Unstad, all of Omaha; a sister and brother-in-law, Celia and Richard Nelson; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
