Bonnie R. Updike, 66 of Fremont died Sunday, May 4, 1997, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont, Rev. Art Hill is officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery at Fremont.

Harry Fankhouser of Blair is her brother.

Updike was born April 12, 1931, in rural Decatur, Nebr. She grew up on a farm near Tekamah and was a 1949 graduate of Tekamah High School. On Jan. 14, 1950, she married Clifford D. Updike at Winslow, Nebr. She worked at Dunrite, Inc. in Fremont for over 30 years.

Survivors are her husband, Clifford; a son, Brad Updike of Denver, Colo.; daughters, Lavonne (Mrs. James) Furstenau of Fremont and Anne (Mrs. Randy) Cole of Tilden, Nebr.; a brother, Harry Fankhouser of Blair; a sister, Iola (Mrs. Jack) Revis of Poudre Canyon, Colo., and three grandchildren, Jennifer Furstenau of Fremont, Jeff Cole and Katherine Cole, both of Tilden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Nellie (Jensen) Fankhouser; an infant daughter and a brother, Robert Fankhouser.

Pallbearers are Harold Updike, Matt Updike, Duane Updike, C. H. Grubb, Roger Barber and Owen Charter.

Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
