Joe McManigal, 90

Joe McManigal, 90, of Blair died Friday, October 5, 2012, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Visitation will begin Monday at 1 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Joe McManigal was born October 2, 1922, in Hamill, S.D., to Joe and Bertha Jane (Dulaney) McManigal. On August 26, 1953, he married Phyllis Brinker. He lived the majority of his life in Blair.

He had an interest in heavy equipment. Throughout his life, he worked as a ship welder, truck driver and sold farm machinery for Kelly Ryan.

In 1972, he started his own business buying, repairing, and selling construction equipment. He sold his last equipment in 2011 at the age of 89.

He is survived by his sons and their spouses, Tim and Tammy and Howard and Rita, all of Blair; his grandchildren and their spouses, Justin and Jessica Houseman of Talmage, Kelly McManigal of Lyons, Kurt and Ann McManigal of Haslet, Texas, and Connie and Hal Kephart of Blair; and six great-grandchildren, Chloe, Avery, Trace, Ellie, Bailey and Joey.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, in 1995; two brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be directed to Crowell Home or Memorial Community Hospital.
