Services for Julia Vaage, 94 of Blair and formerly of Newman Grove, Nebraska, who died May 17, 1992 at Crowell Memorial Home, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Newman Grove. Rev. Harlan Heier will officiate.

Julia Vaage was born September 6, 1897 in rural Newman Grove to Sakarias and Martha Johnson Nelson. She attended District 68 Madison County and graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1916.

She married Richard Vaage May 28, 1917 at her parents home in rural Newman Grove.

She had resided at Crowell for the past several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Vernon; her husband, Richard on April 2, 1981; four brothers, John, Gordon, Louis and Martin; and four sisters, Olena, Christina, Stena and Myrtle.

She is survived by one son, Rufus Vaage, Leucadia, California; two daughters, Arlene Schurr of Norfolk and Janice (Mrs. C. N. “Bud”) Robinson of Blair; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Jacobson-Motl Funeral Home in Newman Grove is in charge of arrangements.
