Ethel P. Valder, 102, of Tekamah, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at the Tekamah Health & Rehab Center.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah, with the Rev. Charity Forbes officiating. Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Ethel Pearl Valder was born Aug. 26, 1899, in Tekamah to Clarence and Ethel Ione (McMullin) Valder.

She was a life-long teacher, and taught elementary and high school English in Tekamah for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Magnolia Rebekah Lodge No. 94 in Tekamah.

She is survived by her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Clayton.

Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
