Former Washington County Man Killed

Fred Wendt of Winside, Nebr. was hit by a train while crossing a railroad track last Friday and died from the injuries received.

Mr. Wendt was a former Washington county man, having been reared on a farm in the southern part of the county. His wife is also a Washington county girl, daughter of Mrs. George Voss of the Sunnyside school district.

The body was brought to the home of Mrs. George Voss where the funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the German cemetery in southern Richland township.

As a young man, the deceased was well liked in his neighborhood, always of a pleasant genial disposition. After his marriage to Miss Bertha Voss he moved to a farm near Winside where he was living at the time of his death.

Besides his wife and children he leaves several sisters and brothers, among them being Mrs. John Dornacker of this county.

The Enterprise extends sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.
