#1 Alfred C. Andersen Died at Hospital Friday, March 8

Alfred C. Andersen, of 1650 Park Street, died at the Blair hospital last Friday, March 8th. He was 79 years of age.

The deceased was born January 26, 1895 on a farm north of Arlington and he spent most of his active life as a farmer.

He is survived by his wife Marie and by a daughter Mrs. Emory Christensen (Helen) of Mountain View, California. There are two granddaughters. A brother, Arthur N. Andersen lives at Herman. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Metzler of Engelwood, Colorado and Mrs. William Glasner, of Blair.

Funeral services are pending. They will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Orum with the Rev. Joseph Myers conducting the service. Burial will be made at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home. There will be a military service at the grave, Mr. Andersen being a member of the Jackson-Peck Post of the American Legion at Herman. #2 Enterprise, 3/14/1974

Alfred C. Andersen of 1650 Park Street, who died last Friday, March 8th at Memorial Community Hospital, was born near Arlington, January 26, 1895. He was 79 years of age at his death.

Military funeral services were held at 2 o'clock, March 12, 1974, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum of which he was a life-long member.

On May 14, 1919, he was united in marriage to Marie D. Nelson of Blair. They farmed west of Herman for 46 years, moving to Blair in 1965.

Survivors are his wife, Marie, a daughter, Helen (Mrs. Emery L. Christenson of Mountain View, Calif.) two granddaughters, Lea Ann and Lynn Christenson, one brother, Arthur N. Andersen of Herman, 2 sisters, Mrs. Clifford Metzler of Englewood, Colorado, and Mrs. Wm. Glasner of Blair, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He served in the armed forces in 1918 and was at the present time serving as quartermaster adjutant of Washington Co. Barracks No. 1096 of the Veterans of World War I.

Pallbearers were Keith Andersen, Gordon Metzler, Albert Benson, Ernie Siess, George Mencke and Edward Newkirk.

Pastor Joseph Myers officiated and Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge with burial in the Blair Cemetery.
