Robt. Welton Died Sunday

County Farmer Died Sunday at Memorial Community Hospital

Robert C. Welton, 44 years of age, Washington County farmer, died Sunday at Memorial Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church, the Rev Gilbert Reiland officiating. Washington Lodge, 21 A.F.& A.M. will be in charge of services at the Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Welton is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a daughter Janice; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Welton; sisters Mrs. Merlin Sorensen of Marne, Iowa; and Mrs. Milton Blohn, Atlantic, Iowa; and Mrs. Rex Parker, Littleton, Colorado; brothers Wayne of Estherville, Iowa; Bruce of Ogden, Utah; Merritt of Lincoln and Max of Louisville.

Mr. Welton was born March 15, 1918 at Wiota, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Welton, the former Evelyn Hagge, were married July 21, 1938. He has lived in Washington County the past 23 years. He worked for the state highway department a while but has spent most of his life farming.

Mr. Welton was active in the Masonic Lodge. He was Master of the Blair Masonic Lodge at the time of his death. He served as Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star for two years.

The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Many Attend The Funeral of Robert Welton

The First Baptist Church was filled beyond capacity Wednesday for the funeral of Robert Welton, 44, well known Blair farmer who was also Master of the Blair Masonic Lodge.

The Rev. Gilbert Reiland, pastor of the church, conducted the services.

Burial, under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home was made in the Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers were Max Cochran, Leland Lucke, Eugene Saville, Garland Runyon, Ansel Toft and Martin Kuhr, Jr.

Members of Washington Lodge No. 21, A.F. & A.M. conducted graveside services with Dr. D. R. Ehlers in charge.
