Sharon M. Carrier, 71

Sharon M. Carrier, 71, of Little Sioux, Iowa, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

A memorial gathering is planned throughout the day Saturday, Oct. 13, at Sharon’s former home in Little Sioux to celebrate her life.

Sharon M. Jones was born July 1, 1941, to Raymond Edward and Freda (Little) Jones in Little Sioux. She was raised and educated in Little Sioux.

In 1958, she married Richard Eugene Carrier. The couple later divorced.

She worked in quality control and inspection at Wilkinson Industries in Fort Calhoun until February 11, 2010.

She enjoyed dream catchers, reading, puzzle books, Scrabble and collecting Indian memorabilia.

She is survived by her children, Kirt Carrier of Little Sioux, Kayleen Bomer and Dan Eaker of Elk Horn, Iowa, and Karla Tacner and husband, Jack, of Little Sioux; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her mother, Freda Jones of Omaha; one sister, Cheryl Carrier of Avoca, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers; and one son, Kenneth.

Root Funeral Home in Onawa, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
