Virginia M. Sorensen was born March 30, 1923, in Omaha to George and Olga (Clausen) Sorensen. She grew up in Omaha on the Sorensen Dairy Farm.

On June 27, 1941, she married Ray Wright. They farmed at Millard and Arlington. She was very involved in the farming operation, was a great cook, and was best described by the saying “Busy Hands, Happy Heart." She was always up for a challenge: ceramics, crafts, crocheting, knitting and sewing. The harder the project the more fun she had. Many family members and friends have been rewarded by receiving a project she completed. She shared her “famous” peanut brittle with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers.

Mrs. Wright was active as a 4-H leader, belonged to extension clubs, women’s church groups and several card clubs.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Steve Skinner of Omaha, Sandra Fishko of Lamar, Colo., Susan and Allan Arp of Kennard; grandchildren and their spouses, Janelle Rodriguez, Leslie and Stan Voxland, Sarah and Joel Haver, Matthew and Laura Wright, Jason and Jennifer Arp, Michelle and Seth Strom; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, son, Steven; and brothers, Clarence and Leonard Sorensen.
