Albert M. Wesemann, 80

Services for Albert M. Wesemann, age 80, of Kennard who died July 15, 1993 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, of complications from leukemia, were Monday July 19, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington. Rev. Lyle Sass officiated. Burial was in the German Cemetery, north of Bennington with Bennington Legion Post No. 266 in charge of military graveside services.

Albert M. Wesemann was born February 9, 1913 in rural Kennard to Henry and Anna Mueller Wesemann. He attended a one-room country school, Peaceful Hill School, Dist. No. 57 in Washington County.

He farmed, except for the years served in the armed forces. He entered the army during World War II in April, 1942 and was honorably discharged as Sgt. In Oct, 1945 from Fort Leavenworth Kansas. He was a munitions worker in the 525th fighter-bomber squadron.

On October 21, 1948 he married Lucille Peterson of Elkhorn at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. She died on August 21, 1981.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and Rich Kenkel of Arlington; Jean and Don Johnson of Blair and Judi and Merle Holling of Nickerson; two sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Gail of Kennard and Jerry and Patty of Arlington; seven grandchildren, five sisters, Ella Rowher of Omaha, Rose Sass of Bennington, Alvina Schumacher of Kennard, Anita Lauritsen of Blair and Wanda Grebe of Elkhorn and four brothers, Bill of Silverton, Oregon, Louie of Yutan, Elmer of Blair and Henry of Kennard.

Hadan-Golden Mortuary in Bennington was in charge of the arrangements.
