Leitha Van Deusen, 83

A prayer service will be held Tuesday, July 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair for Leitha Van Deusen, who died July 14, 1991. A private family service will be held at the Blair Cemetery Wednesday morning at 10 a.m.

Leitha Van Deusen was born March 22, 1908, in Blair to Charles and Leota Jones Pace. She attended Blair Schools and after graduation worked in Blair for “Bernie” Lundt.

She married George H. Van Deusen October 12, 1926. They had one daughter.

She worked for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in Blair for a number of years and then was bookkeeper for her husband for his heavy duty equipment work. After he died January 15, 1960, she continued running the business for five years.

In the early 1960s, she was housemother at Dana College’s Argo Hall. She was also the first housemother upon the completion of Rasmussen Hall.

She was a member of First Methodist Church for over 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Wesley Sprick of Blair; grandchildren, Barbara and Virgil Feer of Blair, Linda and Tom Lannin of Lincoln, Susan and Leonard Pock of Omaha and Todd Sprick of Omaha; great-grandchildren, J. R. and Nicholas Feer of Blair, Michael Sanley and Andrew Lannin of Lincoln and Jessica Pock of Omaha; and a sister-in-law, Leota McCormick of Westminster, Colorado.

Pallbearers will be Todd Sprick, Tom Lannin, Leonard Pock, Virgil Feer and Robert Rand.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
