August M. "Mike" Rasmussen, 89, of Missoula, Mont., formerly of Blair, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012.

He was intered in Missoula, Mont.

August Michael Rasmussen was born October 30, 1922, in Montana.

He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

After retiring from the Montana Department of Fish and Wildlife, he and his wife, Frankie, relocated to Blair where they lived for many years.

He later moved back to Missoula.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his faithful dog, Sybil.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, LaVeda and Jerry Rhode of Washington, Sheila and John Borger of Texas and Judy and Steve Frye of Florida; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie.
