Ethel M. Olson, 84

Ethel M. Olson, 84, of Blair, died Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Good Shepherd Home.

Services were Wednesday, October 17, at Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church in Beloit, Wis.

Ethel M. Christiansen was born August 12, 1928, in Rock County, Wis., to Viggo and Gladys (Robeson) Christiansen.

She was baptized and confirmed at the Pella Lutheran Church in Clinton, Wis. She graduated from Clinton High School's Class of 1946.

On July 6, 1946, she married Raymond “Ole” C. Olson and they celebrated 64 years of marriage until his death on November 11, 2010.

After her marriage, she became a member of Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church. She lived and worked in the Clinton area starting as a ticket-taker at the Clinton Theater. She later dressed turkeys for Bill and Mina Newhouse.

After her son started college, she worked at Admiral Corp. in Harvard, IIl. When they moved from the farm to the house in Clinton, she managed the Co-op gas station. She worked at the bakery in Clinton for a short time.

In 2000, the couple moved to Blair to be closer to their son and daughter-in-law and grandkids.

She loved playing cards and games with her family and friends. Cooking and baking were things she liked to do for others.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Dianna Olson of Kennard; granddaughter and husband, Sherri and Tim Mitchell of Gretna; grandson and wife, David and Carly Olson of Kennard; great-granddaughter, Ella Mitchell; two brothers, Lewis Christiansen of South Milwaukee, Wis., and Vernon Christiansen of Waukesha, Wis.; a sister and brother-in-law, Thyra and Rodney Zirk of Millston, Wis.

A memorial is being established in her name.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
