Charles M. Wilcox, 74

Charles M. Wilcox , 74, of Arlington, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Memorial services were Saturday, October 20, at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Interment was in the Silver Creek Cemetery.

Charles Milton Wilcox was born January 1, 1938, in Columbus to Marvin L. and Marie (Larson) Wilcox.

He graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1957.

On July 16, 1960, he married Nadine Ostrander in Columbus.

The couple lived in Silver Creek until 1966 when they moved to O'Neill.

In 1975, they moved to Arlington where they raised their children until 1985 when they moved to North Bend. After retirement, they moved back to Arlington.

He worked for Grosch Irrigation from 1956 until retiring in 2000.

He was a member of the Nebraska Well Drillers Association and the Iowa & Missouri Water Well Association.

Mr. Wilcox liked to attend auctions and collect coins. He was a member of the Fremont Coin Club. He also liked fishing, camping and spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Nadine, of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa Wilcox, Lori and Duane Panning and Joni and Dale Greunke, all of Fremont; son and daughter-in-law, William and LeeAnn Wilcox of Valley; grandchildren, Dustin and Emmaile Wilcox of Lincoln, Chelsea Wilcox of Columbus, Brad Panning of Fremont, Paige Greunke of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Max Greunke of Fremont; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carroll and Suzie Wilcox of Grand Island, Kenneth and Linda Reed of Silver Creek, Jerry and Denise Wilcox of Crete, Thomas and Juli Wilcox of Bertrand, Dick and Sally Wilcox of Doniphan and Larry Joe and Robyn Wilcox of Silver Creek; brother-in-law, Alonzo Lesiak of Columbus; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Grace Wilcox; sister, Patsy Lesiak; brother-in-law, Ron Champoux; sister-in-law, Elaine Rasmussen and brother-in-law, Norman Stromberg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Arlington Fire & Rescue Department, North Bend Fire & Rescue Department or the Arlington Community Church.
