Services For C. H. West Last Thurs.

Funeral services were held last Thursday in Omaha for Charles H. West, a resident of Kennard for the past 21 years. Mr. West, for a number of years, managed the Kennard Co-Operative Credit Association and also served as Clerk of the Town Board for a number of years.

He was born in O’Brien County, Iowa June 30 1886 and was nearly 81 years of age at the time of his death. He moved with his family to Scribner, Nebraska in 1888 where he spent his childhood. On September 12, 1917 he was united in marriage to Mary Louise Lehmkuhl. Two years later they moved to Beemer, Nebraska where they resided 18 years. They lived in Omaha and Arlington for nine years, moving to Kennard in 1946.

Mr. West is survived by his wife, Mary, one daughter and three sons. They are Mrs. Margaret Baker, of Omaha and Richard R. of Huntington Beach, California, Major Alfred J. of Dayton, Ohio, and Charles H. Jr. of Ralston, Nebraska. There are ten grandchildren.

In addition to his interests as previously mentioned, he was a member of the ancient Free and Accepted Masons for 57 years. At the time of his death he was a member of the John S. Bowen lodge at Kennard.

Services were held at St. Lukes Methodist Church in Omaha. Graveside services were carried out by members of the John S. Bowen lodge.

Pallbearers were Rolla R. Noel, Kenneth E. Hunter, Roscoe Anderson, Sam Wright, Jr., Roy R. Rosenbaum and William R. Byers, all of Kennard. Interment was at Hillcrest cemetery in Omaha.
