Fred Carl Enger was born in Kristiana, Norway, March 30, 1853, and died at his home in Dexterville Monday morning.

In 1868, the deceased came to America, locating at West Point for a few years and later, he homesteaded near Howells, Nebr. In 1784, he was married to Christina Johnson and to this union six children were born, three of whom died in infancy. In 1900, he moved to Blair where he had since resided.

Funeral services were conducted from the Danish Lutheran Church yesterday afternoon with Rev. Jas. Lund assisted by Rev. Hans Nelson, officiating, after which interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Surviving him are his bereaved wife; three children, Fred Enger of Herman, Mrs. Anna Marie Sorensen of Blair and Jorgen Enger; three brothers, Oscar Enger, Ord; Emil T. Hansen, Burwell; and Chris Enger, Fort Worth, Texas. Eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

FRED ENGER

Fred Carl Ludvig Enger was born in Kristiana, Norway March 30, 1853. In 1868 Mr. Enger immigrated to America, coming to West Point. A few years later he homesteaded near Howells, Colfax County. He settled at Blair about 1900.

In 1874 he was united in marriage to Christina Johnson. To this union were born six children, three of which died in infancy.

Mr. Enger passed away after a paralytic stroke May 18 1931. He is survived by his wife, three children: Fred Enger of Herman; Mrs. Anna Marie Sorensen of Blair and Jorgen Enger, whereabouts unknown; three brothers, Oscar Enger of Ord, Neb; Emil T. Hansen of Burwell, Neb. and Chris Enger of Fort Worth, Texas. There survives also eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 20th from the First Lutheran church with Rev. Hans Nelson and Rev. Lund officiating. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery.
