Jesse M. West Died March 17th

Jesse Martin West suffered a heart attack March 4th and passed away March 17th at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha at the age of 78 years.

He was born October 20th, 1885, near Herman, Nebraska. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. West. He was the oldest of 12 children and was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Mr. and Mrs. West resided near Herman until 1943, when they moved to Los Angeles, California. They returned to Blair in 1955 and have resided here since then.

Survivors are his wife Louise; daughters, Mrs. John W. Sutton (Agnes) and Mrs. Richard Nelson (June) both of Blair; sons, Melvern of Herman and Ernest of Grant Park, Illinois. Also three sisters: Mrs. Alex Drayer (Gail), Mrs. Kyle Jansen (Opal), both of Omaha, Mrs. Robert Adkins (Ellender) of Sherman Oakes, California; three brothers, Fern and Jennings West of Herman and Glen West of Berkeley, California. There are nine grandsons and twelve great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church at 2:00 P. M. Friday, March 20th. The Rev. Dale Wesoadt will officiate. The Campbell Mortuary is in charge and burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.
