Lila M. West, 83

Lila M. West, 83, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Swaburg Cemetery near Uehling.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

Lila Mae Forsberg was born Nov. 25, 1925, in Uehling, to Robert and Amelia (Luther) Forsberg. She lived in the Uehling, Hooper and Blair area all her life.

Lila and her first husband, James House, operated a transfer company in Uehling.

She married Max West in October of 1970 in Omaha.

Mrs. West was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair, past president of AmVets in Blair, past VFW District Auxiliary president, past president of National Cotties, and was a member of the Fremont Eagles Aerie No. 200.

She loved to sew and cook. She sewed women’s dresses for the Eagles and also did wedding dresses.

She is survived by her husband, Max West of Blair; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Connie House of Fremont; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Richard Hoffer of Virginia Beach, Va; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Wilma Forsberg of Valley; two sisters-in-law; Arylus Forsberg and Reann Forsberg, both of Fremont.

Memorials are suggested to the Airborne Memorial Monument Maintenance Fund at Heartland Park in Omaha.
