Mother Of Blair Women Died Here Early Wednesday

Mrs. Louise K. West, mother of Mrs. John Sutton and Mrs. Richard Nelson, both of Blair, died early Wednesday at Memorial Community Hospital. Mrs. West, a long-time resident of the Herman area, had been making her home at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

She was born at Martell, Wisconsin, December 12, 1886, but moved to Herman with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. O.A. Johnson, when she was a child.

On July 1, 1905, she was married to Jesse M. West and they lived in Herman until 1943 when they moved to Los Angeles where they stayed for 12 years before returning to Blair. Mr. West died March 19, 1964.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters. The sons are Melvern West, of Herman and Ernest West of Grant Park, Illinois. The daughters are Mrs. John (Agnes) Sutton and Mrs. Richard (June) Nelson both of Blair.

A sister, Mrs. C. Robert Mentzer resides at Los Angeles. There are nine grandsons and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Blair Saturday afternoon, August 18th. The Rev. Gordon L. Patterson will conduct the service.

Burial will be made in the Herman cemetery under the direction of Campbell Mortuary of Blair. Pall bearers will be grandsons. They are: Steven Sutton, Jack West, Warren West, Richard Hunt, Hugh Hunt, Ernest M. West, Gary West, Neal West and David West.
