Services Held For Californian

Funeral services were held at Hamel and Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah Tuesday, July 1, for Myles Sanford West, who died June 26 in Hollywood, California.

Rev. Orval Roach officiated at the 10 a.m. rites.

Pallbearers were Melvern West, Elzy Triplett, Jack Triplett, Jimmy West, Frank Kelly, and Fred Kjeldgaard.

Myles West, the son of Horace Greely West, was born February 2, 1896, at Herman.

He attended school in Herman and as a young man was baptized in the Herman Baptist Church.

On April 19, 1917, he was married to Marie Bates in Omaha. They were the parents of two daughters.

Mr. West was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Savilla.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Mona Carlburg of California, and Mrs. Betty Jane Stout of Tekamah; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three half sisters, who live in Oregon.

Mr. West resided in Herman for many years until moving to California where his later years were spent as an interior decorator.
