lovingly wrapped around sore throats
for patched up cuts and scrapes and emergency trips to the clinic

mornings—so we could get up to a warm house
for polished shoes and pot roasts on Sundays
for sock balls and birthday cakes
for being the best gcheerleaderh at baseball and basketball games
for clean sheets that held the aroma of spring after being hung outdoors
for loving us as teenagers—even if there were moments of frustration
for teaching us to value friends and to have a zest for life
for teaching us to make the best of whatever comes our way
for demonstrating to us that when we are down to always keep looking up
Thanks for always being there for us.
