Victor Enger, 91

Victor Enger, 91, of Blair, died on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Services were held Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at the First Lutheran Church in Blair.

Victor Enger was born Jan. 14, 1908, to Fred and Mary (Sorensen) Enger of Herman. He graduated from Herman High School and worked for Hines ranch before he began farming in the Herman area.

On Dec. 3, 1941, he married Bernice Voss. He played baseball and pitched for the Herman Legion Town Team. He also bowled for several years in both leagues and tournaments. He moved to Tekamah in 1976. He then moved to Good Shepherd home in October of 1985.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law., Arlene and Gene Utterback of Omaha, Sue and Steve Shipe of Bennington, and Elaine and Larry Kramer of Erling, Iowa; one son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Jean Enger of Omaha; seven grandchildren, Brad Utterback, Mike Utterback, Jeff Utterback, Angie Enger, Chad Enger, Jeremy Shipe and Kelsey Shipe, two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Anthony Utterback; one sister, Evelyn Magill of Blair and one brother, Howard Enger of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters and one brother.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
