Clara Westermann, 91

Clara Westermann, 91, of Arlington, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at the Douglas County Health Center in Omaha.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. Interment will be in the St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Visitation began Monday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home and will be held at the church one hour prior to services.

Clara Westermann was born Feb. 3, 1915, in rural Arlington to William and Caroline (Hilgenkamp) Scheer.

She married Elmer W. Westermann on Aug. 8, 1937, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. After her marriage, the couple farmed northeast of Arlington until 1963, when they moved into Arlington. Mrs. Westermann worked with her husband in the farming operation and then worked for Gnuse Construction, doing finishing work.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and the St. Paul’s Quilters.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Delvin and Charlotte Westermann of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Illene and Dyral Dunklau of Arlington and Caarol and Ron Dickmeyer of Omaha; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Margaret Scheer of Arlington and Ida Mincemeyer of Sierra Vista, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, in 1992; two brothers, an infant and Gilbert Scheer; three sisters, Hulda Scheer, Dorothea Hilgenkamp and Meta Gnuse.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
