Sam Van Deusen Died At Blair Hospital Saturday

Raymond “Sam” Van Deusen, a resident of 231 South 14th Street, died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair last Saturday. He was a native of Blair, having been born here December 7th, 1900.

Mr. Van Deusen was a painter by trade, but was retired at the time of his last illness and death. He is survived by his wife, Florence Van Deusen and by three step-children, none of whom live in the Blair area. He was a veteran of World War I.

The step-sons are John Hockert and Phillip Hockert, both of Minneapolis, Minn. The step-daughter is Mrs. Betty Spellman, who resides in Florida. There are 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A brother, John Van Deusen, lives in Fremont. A sister, Ella Jensen, lives in Blair and another sister, Ruth Potter, resides in Portland, Oregon.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary Tuesday morning, December 10th. The Rev. Ray Phelps conducted the service and burial was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Clyde Aten, Walter Plugge, Bert Hansen, Lloyd Jacobs, Leslie Rosenbaum and Clyde Mann.
