Doris English, 78

Memorial services for Doris (Nicholson) English will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Mrs. English died Tuesday, April 29, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Doris Woodard was born Feb. 15, 1929, in Blair to Howard and Helen (Nelson) Woodard. She attended school in Blair and graduated from Blair High School in 1946.

She worked for See's candy in California, and later North Platte. She worked for AT&T, from there, she was transferred to the home office in Omaha.

In November of 1962, she married Ross Nicholson in Blair. The couple had two sons.

She worked as a reading aide at North Elementary School until 1991, when she retired and helped take care of her grandchildren.

Mr. Nicholson died in March of 1996. In 2003, she married Ray English in Albuquerque, N.M.

Mrs. English is survived by her husband, Ray; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Suzie Nicholson and Ken and Brandi Nicholson, both of Blair; five grandchildren; two brothers and sister-in-law, Jim and Kay Woodard of Blair, and Howard Woodard of Southgate, Calif; sister, Virginia Welch of Denver, Colo; sister-in-law, Lois Woodard of Jefferson, Iowa; numberous nephews, nieces and cousins and many friends.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Stubbs and Phyllis Carson; and a brother, Russ Woodard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Memorial Community Hospital Building fund and First United Methodist Church.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
