Eliot J. Van Kirk, 19

Former Blair resident Eliot J. Van Kirk, 19, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Plainview as the result of an automobile accident.

Services were Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Crawford Valley Methodist Church in Plainview. Interment was at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Plainview.

Eliot James Van Kirk, son of Chris and Deb Van Kirk and Carol (Royer) and Joe Keas, was born May 29, 1989, at Norfolk. He lived in Blair before moving to Plainview and graduating from Plainview High School.

He was attending Northeast Community College in Norfolk, studying diesel mechanics, and was employed by S & A Feedlot in Plainview.

He was proud of being a college student and enjoyed working with his dad in the shop. He loved spending time, in person and on his phone, with friends and family. He was loved by everyone. Hunting and fishing with his uncles and friends was one of his favorite pastimes.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his parents, Chris and Deb Van Kirk of Plainview, and Carol and Joe Keas; brothers and sisters, Ana, Myles, Chad, Christopher, and Dalton; grandparents, Jim and Phyllis Royer, Richard Keas, Gale Loseke, and Sharon Bauman; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Anna Van Kirk and Virginia Keas; an aunt, Betty Borgmann; uncle, Les Rottler; and cousins, Jason Loseke and Angie Borgmann.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton was in charge of arrangements.
